The first of the first

Today, cameraless but gloved and booted, we took the dogs for a walk, revelling in the crisp air, the still frozen grass, the bright sunshine… Ok, so the wind was a tad in the chilly side, and there was that slight incident where I was too late to stop Snipe rolling in what she viewed as delightfully fresh dung (yes, again!), and there’s the fact that we had the same thought as half of Somerset, but we managed to find a less-populated path and for the most part, had the hillside, sun and spectacular views to ourselves.

Not a bad way to start the new year, notwithstanding the car journey home with Snipe and then washing her…

I bet that car journey was fun!

  2. It’s hard to decide which was worse … the one with Snipe or the one this evening with the toddler and his chocolate-fuelled nappy…

  3. Sorry, the nappy was my fault – I couldn’t face it and thought if I left it, B would do it :).

  4. He only noticed after said child was firmly ensconced in his car seat… 😆

  5. Just wondered if as the dogs are always around the smelly stuff (know as dung) produced by the pigs and animals they know do they get bored with it and only roll in unknown smelly stuff as produced by animals they don’t know or is it all fair game? 🙂

  6. As far as I can tell, Snipe likes rolling in the poo of other predators but enjoys snacking on the dung of prey…

  7. What a delightful conversation regarding dung. Ours too favor eating that of prey, great when the shepherd has brought his entire flock of sheep and goats past the finca, like yesterday. Walking them then takes AGES, so much poo, so little time!

  8. We had another incident earlier … Snipe is now drying by the fire 🙄

Oh thank goodness Jasper’s a good boy!

  10. No need to rub it in 😆
